Similar to the firefox addons thread; here is a thread to post links to any free photography software that you think others may find useful too.
Suggestions for suitability:
GIMP - a free, open source photo editor with similar functionality to photoshop (though has a different layout).
Hugin - a fantastic photostitching program that can also create high dynamic range (HDR) images.
Photomatix - a shareware HDR producing standalone program and Adobe Lightroom plugin.
RAW Therapee - standalone EXIF data and RAW file editor (shareware). An ideal way to get you started on this aspect of the digtial darkroom, should your photo editor not have this feature built in. A single RAW image is enough to produce HDR images.
