: hi can someone please tell me what technomate is what its used for , seems like a receiver for sat tv but not sure could someone please xplain?
seems like a daft question but id love 2 know....

Yes its a sat receiver that can be patched to unlock a lot of channels without the use of a card.
Will not do sly tho

Yes Ianbbb is correct, Technomate is a manufacturer of satellite receivers, not dodgyboxes that are used by Sky, but real equipment. Technomate's new range of receivers are the current best available for general satellite tv reception, with fantastic low prices too.

DSAT has certainly been awakened in the UK at last, due to Technomate and soon to be boosted with advertising from the BBC/ITV partnership- Freesat, and I suppose Lidl has helped too with those mega cheap deals .

yep...technomate are the market leaders in the uk at present...as you can see, many people (even the majority) on this forum have technomate receivers.

with sky, you are very limited to channels and have to fork out a fortune to watch sports and movies (£35+ per month)...

with the technomate box, you can watch 1000s of channels for free (providing you have a motorised dish) in every single language you can think of.

for footy, there are 2 cards you can get (for a much lower fee of about £100 for a year) which are 100% better than sky as they show much more matches (both premiership and champions league) and lots of box office english movies.

the amount of channels available and the costs are well worth binning a sky box
