T in the Park: blink-182 pull out but The Strokes and Slash are added

THE STROKES are the latest big name to be added to the T in the Park line-up but fans of blink-182 will be disappointed after they pulled out of the Balado bash.

Festival goers will also get the chance to see Pete Doherty and Fun Lovin’ Criminals in action during the weekend of July 8-10.

But blink-182 won’t be there after scrapping all their gigs for 2011, saying they need to concentrate on finishing a new album.

They have announced plans to play Glasgow in June 2012.

The band said last night: “The three of us are working very hard to do what we set out to do when we re-formed...get a new blink-182 album recorded.

“For those of you who hoped to see us at T in the Park this year, we’re so sorry that we won’t be there especially because we were looking forward to it so much. However, we have added a Glasgow arena date onto next summer’s tour so we can make sure we see our Scottish fans.”

Meanwhile at T, rock fans will get their chance to see Slash. The ex-Guns N’Roses and Velvet Revolver star was announced as part of the three-day event last night.

Jenny & Johnny and Devlin will also play Balado, along with The Naked and Famous.

A limited number of T in the Park Residence packages are still available to buy.
