Switching to 4:3 on widescreen monitor

Can anyone tell me if there is software that can switch a monitor from 16:9 to 4:3 (and back again if required) at the click of an icon? I notice that a lot of widescreen monitors do not have this facility in their menus (although some do). Thanks

If your on about watching videos ,nero showtime does it

Im using Cyberlink Powerdvd on a 22" widescreen m8 and that changes ratio m8

VLC does it fine too. Plus you can set custom ratios so you can change 16:9 to 16:10 without too much stretching.

Thanks for the replies but I may be barking up the wrong tree. I was thinking of getting a widescreen TFT, but I was under the impression that all my existing software which looks fine on my existing 4:3 monitor would look squashed up on a widescreen. As my Daughter uses paint packages for her art, then all the images she is working on would also be distorted. Hopefully I am wrong, or it looks like I will have to stick to a 4:3 TFT, unless I can find some sort of aspect ratio switching software (if it exists)
