streamming over internet?

hiya guys
i like many others use vlc+wingrab to watch tv which streams over my network from the dbox.
i was just wondering is it posible to pick this stream up from another comp over the internet? i think prob not but then i dont know too much about networking! just started reading.

i use a programme to watch what my daughter is doing on my lappy from my pc it called vnc i see what she is seeing so it may work worth a try m8
