I've seen a few ropey airports over the years but about 14 years ago I flew into Egypt for a holiday in Sharm-el-Sheik, the "airport" was actually an air force base (don't know what it's like now), baggage reclaim was holes in a wall, £10 immigration fee had to be paid in ENGLISH notes (Scottish not accepted) after an hour-long wait on the tarmac. Happily it was in January so wasn't too hot, would have been pure hell in the summer.
BTW Anyone planning to fly into Lisbon's Humberto Delgado this summer, be prepared for a loooooong wait at immigration, 2~4 hours is the norm due to chronic under-staffing.
