spoofed Hitachi won't play copies?

chaps, spoofed a Hitachi as a liteon and it all went well, it's not playing copies though? is the Hitachi ixtreme not out/working for hiatchis or have i done some thing wrong?

stock drive > flashed with ixtreame, then selected dummy.bin from liteon then auto spoof and it all worked, but as i say not playing copies?

I had the same problems with a hitatchi mate, it was on 1.51 but wouldnt play new wave games. Its just the drive mate, try flashing it again, but probs the drive. Just get a new liteon mate. £25 brand new.
 
thanks man, well will let the kidda know that he's gonna have to get a new drive......or play orginals...lol cheers man
i do have another hiatchi here like but will it heck go into mode B like the other one did! bloody thing....

You using that send mode B thing in JF? Have you trie dthe old way mate, with the cd? I never used JF, but I know JTH had the same problems getting a hitachi into mode b the other day.
 
yeah mate the jf thing, is it the slax cd? as tried that and didn't have an iota what to do once logged in to it..lol

EDIT - Tried another Hitachi, a 78 version and all working! at last!

Thats the badger, the slax cd. From what I remember, you boot into that cd, and it should say spinning up or something.....
 
now that i have 2 Hitachi's that are spoofed as a liteon will you think I'll need that disk? the one i downloaded is the one that i booted the pc up with should i be putting that in the Hitachi's?

Also think i bricked a liteon it won't eject are do any thing now...lolol


So Hitachi spoofed as liteon what do i do? use slax cd?

And a liteon that's not doing any thing now.....
 
If the lite on has been erased , it will not eject , as it has no firmware on.
 
can i restore the liteon using the bar codes off the laser etc?
 
i'll have a check when i get home and see what i have, not the end of the world as i spent all day yesterday spoofing only to find drivers were in a terrible state/lasers/motors etc...so that's why in the end i pulled the hitachi drive 78 that i new worked out and spoofed as the liteon for the broken drive.
