hey guys. I manged to get a code from vodaphone as it was my sisters old phone so she got it quite easily.

Only thing is is its not working! I insert the simcard i wanna use. power phone on and insert the code when requested. Says unsuccessfull! tried thisa another 2 times and made sure I entered correctly. Only 2 attempts left!

I read this on vodafone site.

Does the phone need to have been used on Vodafone UK?

Yes, even if you've bought your phone second-hand. For Pay as you go, you'll need to have been using your PAYG SIM in the phone for 30 days. For Pay monthly you'll need to have paid three bills on time.

Unless you're using an Apple product, your phone must be in the UK for the unlock to work.

My sister used the phone on vodafone already, does the above mean I have to use a sim from voda for 30 days before they will allow the phone to unlock?

1. Turn on the phone without sim card
2. Type *#*#7378423#*#*
3. Select Service info
4. Select SimLock
5. Check where is X
6. If X is on NETWORK and value is different than 0, you can unlock your phone.
7. If it is 0 unlock by code is NOT possible. The counter is blocked.

done all that. i did have 5 attempts but now only 2 :-(

Then its the code being wrong/not valid.
