Sony android TV & showbox

M8s bought a Sony Android TV and asked me about putting showbox on it. I gave him a usb stick with it on and told him to install off that but he says all he gets is thumbnails no apk. Does anyone have an Android TV and managed to get showbox on it? If so is there an easy guide I can forward to him

It should work okay as i have done it lots of times this way
tell him to go to his apps and in there he should have an app called "fileBrowser" open then he will see Local disk or USB
click on USB and install from there.

If he installs aptoide tv, he can install loads of third party apps from the aptoide store.
This will save him looking around for different apks as they are all in one place with aptoide tv.
But they will not be the ad free versions.
I think he will also need a mouse or keyboard with track pad to navigate on showbox.

I use my google drive to upload the APK and then browse to it via ES Fie Explorer
