I have a 2.5 320gb Sonnics hard rive that went t!ts up. The hard drives in one of those wallet metal type external USB caddies. The power light comes on when I plug it into the PC but no noise and it doesn't show up but the caddie lights up but a solid blue light.
I took the hard drive out and put it into one of those multi externally powered hard drive caddies and the hard drive works fine.
Why doesn't it work now in an external wallet type caddie ?
