They must wet their pants at us in Scandinavia. It's no more than 2 inches deep near me, you can walk and drive perfectly safe but the whole bus service, schools, trains are either off or on slow mo. I'm not saying bomb it to work or drive as normal just be cautious.
I can only remember 1 or 2 days throughout my school years were it was that bad you literally couldn't get out the house. All the others we trudged their like sodden rats. You slip someones to blame and claim off for making us.......

I live on a road that leads to about 5 other roads that all sort of lead to a dead end, the road out is about a 15 degree incline. We do not get gritted and the first few cars that drive on the virgin snow are grate, then you get the compound snow and ice and all the cars slip down the hill sliding side to side hitting the parked cars.

Scandinavia etc have better precautions for bad weather than we do
 
A bit of snow and the UK knackerd, just glad we not got it as bad as USA have,
Let the pothole season begin !
