Sky+ without hard drive

We recently went down to the bottom package on Sky as there was nothing worth watching, so the Sky+ subscription went as well. I now want to take the hard drive out and put it in my PS2 and I was wondering wether the box will still function without it? Obviously no Sky+ functions but we don't have them anyway. Thanks

I've just read somewhere that we should still have Sky+ regardless of our package, is this true? :Chainsaw:

afaik, its available for free with the lowest subscription package.
