FURIOUS critics last night claimed SNP plans to tackle Scotland's binge-drink nightmare with minimum pricing would actually make some 'problem' drinks CHEAPER.

figures show the price of 12 275ml bottles of WKD Blue could fall from £12.48 at Tesco to a legal minimum of £8.17 and from £10 at Asda to £8.17.

Similarly, 12 bottles of Smirnoff Ice would drop from £12.97 at Tesco and £10 at Asda to just £8.17.

Buckfast - notorious in Scotland's boozing culture - was last night being sold for £6.49 for a 750ml bottle at Glasgow Spar stores.

Under new rules it could theoretically drop to a minimum of £5.06.

But 12 440ml cans of Tennent's Lager would rise by £1.30 from £8.92 at both Tesco and Asda to £10.22.
