I definitely wouldn't eat dolphin, whales are mammals as well, the japanese hunt whales, i wouldn't eat whale meat either.

I know there has been a problem with dolphins getting caught in tuna nets and drowned, perhaps that's what joe is talking about?

I love eating fish and shellfish (crab, lobster etc ) but don't think i could eat dolphin it is a mammal, just like a human.

I don't think it is only the fact that they kill the dolphins, that is the point here, I think it is the inhumane way in which they are killed, it's the same with seals and whales.

Different countries do have different tastes in food and so long as it is monitored and the said fish is caught humanely then that should be accepted as OK for the food chain, it's like the cod war over hear where catches were limited and size was important to return the smaller of the catch to the waters to grow and breed to keep the stocks up.

An easy answer to that would be that Joe is from Malta...Malta is in the Mediterranean...The Med' is the toilet of Europe.

Not sure I'd be too happy eating fish from there either.
Unless it was a nice fillet of Dolphin.

what a d**K you are enough said.
you dont have a glue do ya?

ive never eatin any fish not even fish fingers/fish cake nothing means nothing.

beef/lamb/chicken/pork etc all manmade food ie
i mean they are born to be eatin they are not wild animals,
from day one they are food cos they are breed as food dolphins are not,
nor are dogs cats bears etc,
maltese make my sick because they shoot birds just for pleasure...sick they are.

Don't dolphins eat fish? Man has been eating fish since God created us on the 9th day of Christmas. Fish are farm reared this days Joe, so that makes them as even as any farm animal mate!?! You could say that you should only eat fish and not farm animals as fish don't have as much feeling as mamals?

I don't agree with eating dolphins.

Work.... Where else?
Ok, think this thread is getting out of hand as usual.

I have eaten dog whilst in Thailand, and for the record it tasted nice. I have also eaten crickets and all other manner of things, and tbh I would eat it again without thinking about it.

Whilst in Japan I ate several weird and wonderful things raw, including Bream, octopus, sea urchin, prawns, squid and stuff I dont eve know what they were.

Different people eat different things, and we cannot criticise another culture because we dont eat it. Thats terribly hypocritical of us if we do, Muslims dont eat pigs yet we do, some dont eat cows as they are sacred.

We are top of the food chain, food is food to me, I will eat the majority of things, using the stupid argument it was bred for that reason is well just stupid. Its only bred for food, because people like to eat it, not because of any other reason. The only thing I would be uncomfortable eating is bush meat, simply because it is dangerous to eat. Otherwise I would try it once to see if I like it.

bush meat is pretty tough, its best stewed.

My parents told me about a story of when they lived in africa. They were travelling in the middle of nowhere and the bus ran over an antelope which the locals promptly picked up and threw on top of the bus. At the next stop they lit up a fire and bbq the thing.

I guess it gives a new meaning to the word road kill.

Totally agree with the cultural difference thing, but if an animal is endangered then no one should be eating it. It is too easy to judge someone based on your own culture and values. I think if you have no valid argument as to where your views are based then you should say 'personally', or just reserve your judgement.

If someone served me up a non endangered species of dolpohin steak, then I wouldn't eat it, and I couldn't really tell you why othen than they are somehow sapient like which is probably nothing more than a personal opinion.
