hi all,
im new to this forum and was just wondering if it is possible that you can get the sky channels through a satallite dbox rather than a cable dbox or am i just out of luck.

Sorry mate it's not possible, to do with the Sky encryption system being much more advanced than the cable version. Sure somone more knowledgeable will be along shortly to shed a bit more light on the subject.

As the Sky encription hasn't been hacked (because it's too damn hard), you won't be able to get all the Sky channels. You would only get FTA (free to air) channels.

I think the only difference between a Sky and Cable dbox is the tuner. You could buy a cable tuner to replace the sky one but there is a lot of soldering involved.
