Phone Unlocking samsung e350 infrared port

My missis wants the sammy e350 slide phone but im not sure what the purpose of the infrared port,it hasnt got bluetooth but she wants to be able to send or recieve pics or tones between 2 fones........ is this possible using the infrared or no...........

u could buy an infra red dongle ang upload fromt he pc u can probley send via infra red phone to phone with pics
