Hiya Chaps

I need of some help. I have read the "Beginners guide to setting up a DbOX2"
and thought I would have a go at flashing it with Sportster 1.7

Here is some info:
I have a sagem 2x Amd chip
It has Boxcracker 3.5
I have used Dbox command centre 1

I have tried everything but it doesn't seem as though I am getitng a connection.
Have found out the box's IP addy and put this in and yet it doesnt seem to connect.

I am running winxp pro sp2

Can anyone offer any advice to a total nebie

Thanks

Nath

Instead of using DBOX Command Centre I recommend that you try using FTP.
Go to Internet Explorer and type this as a web address:

ftp://192.168.0.2/tmp

(replace 192.168.0.2 with the IP address of your DBOX)

It will ask for a username and password.
Username = root
Password = dbox

Then just copy and paste the image into the folder that appears.
You then flash the box via the on-screen menus (see tutorial for help on this)

Thanks for the help. Just tried it and it says operation timed out. ?? Network connection seems ok but it wont comunicate with the box.

Any way to test

Nath

open the command prompt and type
ping 192.168.0.2
(replace 192.168.0.2 with the IP address of your DBOX)
space after ping
see if it replys.
Hope this helps.

Network problem then.
You'll need to assign a static IP address to the network card that the dbox is to be connected to. You'll also need to disable all other network adapters. Also make sure that all antivirus and firewalls are turned off.

Also ensure you are using a crossover cable and not a straight/patch cable.
Liam.
