Sagem DBOX2 stuck in Standby

I have just bought a Sagme dbox2 from a mate he stated the PSU was not working properly so i got a PSU but its the same problem as soon as you plug it in all you see is the red light nothing else nothing on the LCD screen can anyone tell me what the problem is. i told my mate it isnt psu unit he said yes it was
and didnt give money back
Can anyone help please

mate go right up close to the lcd it might b there maybe try ifa and put another image on it u will know if its flashing on the pc i once had a sagem that the lcd dident work

The red light stays on theres nothing on the lcd nothing happens if u press power button on the box and remote ive tried flashing it but nothing happens

mate where abouts u from theres a place in edinburgh that fixes boxes wayne2 posted this b4 for me last year the company in http://www.svtservices.co.uk they might b able to sort you out

maybe the lcd has been turned off from settings????? try to flash an image that will work well on the box (sportster seems to flash well) and see if that helps.....if not look inside the box for blown circuits and diodes (brown or black scorch marks on board)
