Hi there,

I have one live RJ45 that my PC is currently connected to. I want to connect another PC in the same room but there is no other RJ45 connection.

I know I can use a hub to extent my current connection so I can connect a second computer.

Question:
Is there such a thing as an RJ45 splitter. Something that just splits the line between the two? Like an RJ11 splitter for the phone and would the two machines connect to the same network and work the same???

There are RJ45 splitter available but are used in pair to get 2 connection over the same cable.

A typical use would be where a single cable is running from a hub/ server to a distant end where a second splitter is used to allow 2 pc's linked over the same cable. see here for example http://www.duxcw.com/digest/Reviews/Network/ats/index.html

In your case you would be best to use a hub and they are quite cheap.

hope this helps!
