RFT Viper on CFT2100 Cable box

Can somebody please help me.

I have just purchased a GI CFT2100 cable box to use on my broadband cable.
I have been looking through ebay.com and have seen an add for a RFT Viper platinum descrambler unit.

Do these units actually work, and will it work with a cft-2100 on a UK cable system. It says it will work with the cft-22xx units on a US cable system but it says nothing about over here.

I just thought i should ask someone who may know before shelling out the £40 for it.

Any other suggestions would be greatfully recieved.
