I've not read the source but surely China could be killed off by trade embargoes as nothing critical that can't be produced elsewhere comes out of it.

They do have cheap manufacturing off to a T but a bit less consumerism would probably starve them in case of another WW. Products I help to design are industrial and infrastructure and manufactured in various places without Chinese parts so I'm sure others can produce essentials.

Maybe Poundland and Wilko's will run out of stuff (I will be upset)...

Some interesting cities in Angola, empty, Chinese-built. Strong foothold in Australia, selling baby-formula.
