A top international referee has been suspended after allegedly going on a vodka binge before officiating a key league game.
Sergei Shmolik, 43, was so drunk he was barely able to move around the pitch and 'gestured like a clown' during a key fixture in the Belarus premier league.
Amazingly, officials only noticed his condition in the second half when he was said to be refereeing the match from the centre circle.
The referee, who officiated at Wembley for England's 6-0 hammering of Luxembourg in 1999, became a FIFA whistler in 1993.
Only last year he was voted the best referee in Belarus.
