Police wouldnt do anything, its just a typical Nigerian Email Scam...

Google Nigerian 419, we get about 40 of these emails a day, 100 Viagra emails and lots and lots of other weird emails...

I think the police would like to see this one as it is a complete deception with intent to defraud.

Its most likely sent from Nigeria in which case there wont be anything they can do...

They normally get your email from directories, just picking up emails from anywhere they can, they send the same email in bulk to as many people as possible, most the time they dont even keep track of which email they sent to who, so they ask you to reply to or forward the original email so they can remember their own story :) Its easy to harvest emails, there are spiders that can crawl websites for email addresses posted in forums, guestbooks, your own site, etc also directories such as yahoo, hotmail etc... We get tonnes and tonnes of them , I actually got bored of teasing them after the first 100 or so :) next time I get some I will post them for you :)

This is worse than most of the other scams as it is using an actual persons details. It is no doubt completely false, but I find it quite harrowing that they should get away with this. It even says in the BBC report that the mans brother is a banker.

Some sick people out there.
