@Rat,

Here are the different sections currently available. Please feel free to amend the section title (ie "Entertainment") or the channel number that section starts from.

Eg Currently channels starting 101 and after are automatically placed in Entertainment section as below:-
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

The next section starts at 301 as below:-
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.
This means any channel numbers 301 onwards is under movies. In other words channel numbers from 101 to 300 will be placed in Entertainment section. Anything after will be in another section.

So, if you wanted Entertainment channels to start at channel "1" and movies channels to start at 201 you would change those two sections as follows:-
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.
etc....

Hope i've explained it enough. Between each section there has to be enough space to fit all the channels in that section in so all your Entertainment channels have to fit in between 1 and 200 (by above example) which means you have room for 199 Entertainment channels.

Will they have to start at 101 ? or will they be the same as now

eg: BBC1 HD ch101
or like now BBC1 HD ch1

Each section can start where you like so yes 1 is fine to start. If you let us know section name and what number they are to start at for that specific section you use now. Eg

1+ Entertainment
150+ Movies
200+ Sports

etc

Entertainment (93)
1 - 93

FTA HD
94 - 111

Kids (25)
112 - 137

Movies (25)
139 - 164

Music (32)
165 - 197

sport (32)
198 - 230

News (15)
231 - 246

Lifestyle & Culture (15)
247 - 262

Documentary (25)
263 - 288

Simulcast SD (11)
289 - 300

Specialist (13)
301 - 314

Shopping (28)
315 - 343

International (72)
344 - 416

Sky/BT Interactive (46)
417 - 463

BBC Regional/Interactive (43)
464 - 507

ITV/CH4/CH5 Regional (not applicable)
508 - 553

Irish Variations (38)
555 - 593

Scottish Variations (should be taken care of via regional variations)
594 - 603

Welsh Variations (as above)
604 - 611

Religious (31)
612 - 643

Gaming & Dating (1)
644 - 645

Adult (18)
646 - 664

Freesat (not applicable)
1771 - 1891

Radio (not looked at radio yet)
1 - 55

Thanks @Rat.

Can I make some suggestions? Maybe round up by a few (or to a nearest whole number or something) for start of each section. The reason for this is that if a new Entertainment channel is launched then multiple things would need to be updated to fit into Entertainment section whereas if next section, FTA HD, started at 100 then that means only one file needs to be updated and we can fit an extra 6 new channels in Entertainment section. Feel free to amend your post with any new starting numbers.

FYI, you may want to rethink having separate regional (eg ITV/Ch4/5), etc sections as the autobouquets mange that very effectively and automatically imho.

Thanks

Kev

So if I round up the numbers there will be blank gaps between bouquets or the numbers just wont run in line ?

Yeah I dont mind doing away with regional, I only added it because it helped members find theirs being in one place

:)

Blank channels won't show in bouquets. It would just be that FTA HD channels would start at, say, 100. So in EPG it would be last channel of entertainment section (channel 93 by looks of things) and next channel would be start of FTA HD and this would be on 100.

Do you like the numbers running all consecutive with no gaps?

A good way to look at it is if you wanted to zap to Sky Premier and the Movies section always started at 150 onwards then your users simply enter 150 whilst viewing live TV and this would take them directly to Sky Premier channel without having to call up the bouquets list/epg and finding out what section Movies starts on, which i'm guessing at this moment can change as and when you add/remove channels :)

Also, @Rat, why do you have a Freesat section? Are there channels available on freesat that aren't on sky 28.2?

I dont mind skipping numbers @ketmp :) its I didnt like the idea of zapping through blank channels
so all good here :)

Freesat was a request from members, but tbh I dont update that too much to be fair so that could go

@Rat,

Your RBM plugin appears to work but still needs work.

In mean time the custom ordering of channels needs to be done if you don't mind?

The attached file (which I've started for you as an exmple) needs to be changed to match your preferred order.

Can I suggest you do this in three parts...

Part 1. Cut and paste each line so that they are in your preferred order (going by channel names (just channel names). Remember to cut/paste the entire line. You will notice that I've started it for you as below:
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

For the above, I found Sky1+1 later down the list and cut and pasted that after Sky1.

Part 2. Once the channels are in your preferred order, you need to renumber the LCN numbers for each line so they're consecutive (as in example above).

Part 3. Can you then place an extra blank/empty line between each sections. So for example if Channel 5 was end of that section/bouquet (Entertainment) and Sky1 was start of new section/bouquet

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

Sorry John, hope that made sense?

Did you manage to look at this yet @Rat?

So I have to go through every channel and paste a line in ?

For step 1, all the lines with channel names are there but the order is the official sky order, you just need to cut/paste them into your preferred order.

Eg. So after sky1, I cut sky1+1 from further down and pasted it to just after sky1 line.

This essentially overrides the bouquetmaker default/offical sky numbering into your preferred ordering (which makes more sense imho).

@Rat,

I've sorted your first bouquet section, "Entertainment". Just got the rest to do now.

Can I clarify you want the bouquet sections in the following order?
  1. Entertainment
  2. FTA HD
  3. Kids
  4. Movies
  5. Music
  6. Sport
  7. News
  8. Lifestyle & Culture
  9. Documentary
  10. Simulcast SD
  11. Specialist
  12. Shopping
  13. International
  14. Sky/BT Interactive
  15. BBC Interactive
  16. Irish Variations
  17. Religious
  18. Gaming & Dating
  19. Adult
I ask this because I'm wondering why you would need simulcast SD and also do people use FTA HD as aren't the ITV HD in Entertainment section?

Yes, but I just thought it was easier them being to hand in one section

also simulcast SD was mainly for regional differences (news) and BBC regional news still doesn't broadcast in HD

Thank you Kev

If you don't mind then John, can I make a suggestion and maybe move FTAHD bouquet section further down the line like next to the simulcast SD one?

Your RBM can, within it's options, either automatically swap SD with corresponding FTAHD channels (I've made this default - so it's like your preferred layout) or use SD versions for those that don't have regional HD versions.

Yes Kev tbh this makes more sense :)

If this works John, I think you'll get another customer (ie me).

I know you're thinking what more could you have asked for? haha :) :)

LOL you like my channel order then ;) you called them something oce and I cant remember what it was now lol because of the order I put them in

Yea, I refer to it as OCD order :)
