A DAD claims that his chronic asthma has been cured by having fillings pulled out of his teeth.
Computer engineer Simon Williams, 43, believes the condition was triggered by mercury fillings in his gnashers.

He said yesterday: "It cost £500 and was very painful to have them all pulled out.

"But when I woke the following morning I felt I could breathe properly for the first time in years. I am utterly convinced my dental fillings gave me asthma."

Simon, from Woolpit, Suffolk, spent hours every day wheezing, feeling tired and suffering from dizzy spells after suddenly developing asthma four years ago.

Doctors were unable to do anything for him until he turned to an American specialist, who blamed his fillings and advised him: "Get them out immediately."

Health authorities in America have warned that chewing can release harmful mercury vapour from ordinary amalgam fillings and this can then be breathed into the lungs.

Norway and Denmark banned mercury from fillings two years ago, while Finland and Japan have severe restrictions.

But Brits are given eight million of them every year and the Department of Health continues to insist they pose no danger.

A spokeswoman said: "These fillings are durable and safe. Studies conducted over many years support their safety."

Anyone any thoughts on this? I have 4 mercury fillings and would love to get them all pulled if/when I have the cash. I'm sure there is something wrong with these no mater what some people say, just too many stories of people's stories of improved health when they get them out.

I've heard of this before, i actually had three mercury fillings removed and replaced with white fillings myself earlier this year. Not sure if it has made any difference to my health though, if it has i haven't noticed sorry.

And before anyone asks why: the dentist advised i get them replaced as they were quite old, i didn't believe him, thought it was a scam to get more money out of me, but one of them actually broke the week before my appointment to get it replaced!

The thing is ..i dont know why ANYONE would want emalgum fillings .. they look TERRIBLE ..for an extra 50 quid , composite fillings are WELL worth the money ...dont forget guys its not just about the white fillings , but the PROCEDURE a little different , it is much better !

Well i got these put in as a teenager, don't think they had white fillings then! lol
