hey, just need a little advice, i havnt used my psp in a while and ive noticed there is a new firmware out by Dark_Alex 3.10oe-a(or something).

what i wanted to know is could i just update straight to that or do i need to downgrade to 1.5 first???

Dean.

Post 4 on here looks about cock-on for your requirements

Actually post 5 says straight up rather than downdating it to 1.50 first. But as always I'd investigate further and the decide on the safest most common route. Don't forget it could brick it?

get the easy installer

http://www.psp-hacks.com/2007/01/25/custom-firmware-303-oe-c-released/

and make sure you do these steps as you are a previous custom firmware user

Previous Custom Firmware users:

YOu MUST set you kernel to 1.50 in recovery mode.

HOLD your PSP's power button to turn it off, then HOLD the R key to turn it back on.
Under the configuration option:
Game folder hombrew (currently: X kernel) <- Set this to 1.50 kernel!

Exit recovery mode:
Go to your PSP'S GAME tab Memory Stick.
Run the 3.03 OE-C Firmware Install.

If i was of help, then please leave feedback for me

just keeps saying cant find the file...

'opening and checking 150.phb'
'no found'

if it can`t find file then u will av to manually put it in m8 download the 1.50 eboot fron downloads and then place it in the recovery in the game folder then try it ok
