PS3 Bluray broken

I have opened the ps3 and fixed the mechanism and it now loadings discs

Now the problem is the ps3 does not run any games dvd or cd's.

Once the disc is inserted i cant read it spinning

have you powered it up with the drive open and actually seen the disk spin when you put a disk in?
Also, is there a spinning icon on the top left of your screen.

What firmware version is your PS3?

i haven't opened it to see if the disc is spining but cannot hear it.

Also no disc icon comes up and is on the latest firmware

sounds to me like the BD-Board is hosed. un fortunately the boards are paired so it means you are screwed until someone comes up with a method to downgrade 3.60.

LOL, ok the Blu-ray board on your drive is broken by the sounds of it. Because you are on 3.60 you cannot pair another board. You can either flog it on ebay or keep it and hope the hacking scene can downgrade it in the near future ;-)

i would first be tempted to look at this thread i have had a few drive problems in the past and found it to be the mosfet chip that powers the bl drive look at the pic in the thread to locate your mosfet chip.
i have in the past used a replacement mosfet from an old rrod xbox 360 and it works.

as far as i can see, there is nothing to suggest the bluray logic board is broke. unless i missed something in this thread.
