the laser has just gone on my ps2 so had to dig out the ps1

Hi m8,
Try the newsgroups they are the best and fastest for all your download needs!
I have tried p2p like Emule, Kazaa but they were very unreliable and slow.
I have tried Bittorent sites these were again very slow.
I have found that the newsgroups are the best and I recommend you go for a web based server like Easynews as they are easier to get started with.
