Programming pic ic's

Hi all

Someone gave me an old xbox xectuter 2.6 programmer - parallel with usb power. Just wondering if it would be possible to use this to program pic chips with this as ive got a mate with an older wii that i could use an old pic ic i have knocking about here on!! And I like a challenge and it will make things a bit more interesting than just buying a wiikey!!

If anyone has any experience of these programmers I would be grateful for some advice on pin outs etc..

You mean the old xbox1 modchip programmer?

maybe some funky rewiring will make it compatible but i suspect that building a simple JDM programmer would be much simpler.

Yeah thats the one!! I thought with the right software it might just be a simple matter of connecting the ic to the existing pins but you are probably right - might as well just save all teh ahssle and buy one of the cheapo Bulgarian ones on Ebay!!
