Probs with packard bell laptop

Hi got a prob with easynote f7280 has stopped working on battery but works ok on power supply do the battery's stop just like that or are the prone to any probs to do with this everything alse seems ok any help would be great.:THANKS:

Join the club of owners with crappy batteries! That's the way they go - its just that some are better than others and last a bit longer. You can get a replacement for about £80 on the net.

The problem is that each time you charge it, it becomes a little bit more useless and it is a good idea to fully discharge your battery then fully charge it from time to time. This is to stop the battery from 'memorising' the point where it thinks it is full.

The battery in this laptop is a Lithium-Ion battery if im not mistaken and Lithium-Ion batteries cannot be over charged, the best thing to do is always keep the laptop plugged into the mains and only use the battery alone when you really need to as the more you use it on battery power alone the less of a charge the battery will hold, if you do this when you buy a new battery it should last you for years.
