CD & DVD problem

ive been burning for a few months now but just recently when i burn music everything is ok but when i burn dvd's it read's the dvd and then when it starts burning it comes up with an error box saying cant burn any one got any ideas please

just a stab in the dark, but have you got a pioneer writer, and if so have you updated the firmware on the writer to write to the dvdr media, as the new riteks have a new dye and therefor the machines may need updating.

no its not a pioneer its a sony dvd writer and ive told u all i can really it burns music fine but when it comes to burning dvd's it read's the disc and then comes with error when starting to write

Hi mate are you using nero as i have had this problem before, if you use another program it will work fine. Never found out what the problem was but on a fresh reinstall of windows it went back to normal.
