Press Play when Streaming?

Hi

I have setup VLC and it works ok. I select the file to play using the Dbox and then the screen says 'connecting to server'. It hangs here.

If I click play on the vlc control panel on the computer, the TV changes to buffering and then starts playing....

This shouldnt be should it?

You should be able to play it direct from the dbox.

Which image are you using?

This is a recent problem many people have come across, which might suggest it's a problem with the newer versions of Sportster.

Once you get the "connecting to server..." message, load up Internet Explorer and type this into the address bar, followed by the enter key:

http://192.168.0.2/

(replace this IP address with the ip address of your COMPUTER!)

Then it will show you the VLC playlist. Simply left click on the item that is in the playlist, and the file should start going on the DBOX.

Thanks for the info guys.

I am using Sportster 1.7 UK04. I had stability issues with 1.73 onwards and have now gone back the way.....

I had noticed that the webinterface has all the details of stream rate and file name etc. input. This suggests the dbox is doing most things except hitting play. Its not a major issue but a little tedious.

If I figure out a definate reason I will update.
