pls help:black box not respondin

hi guys, new to the site , cld anyone pls put me thru this dilema, i just bought a black box 500 2 days ago ,at dreambox.me.co.uk, but its not responding to manual or remote command -yellow (stanbylight) light cannot b switch on or off, i had already used another adaptor still no joy, no images as well, can someon help pls wat can ido :grab:

Try to flash a new image to it using dream up and a null modem cable
