I downloaded a file and long story short it had some Trojans and spy ware and I think a virus too Oh and some adware  that I didn’t know un-till it was to late

This is what I know and have done after 15+ hours of trying to sort this out,

What happens..

Endless pop ups saying ive got spy ware etc
Task manager disabled!!!
I can’t download updates ie for anti virus etc
If I connect to the internet it tries to redirect me to other sites (ive disconnected the internet for now)
It tries to connect to the internet itself
I get two pop ups when I switch the pc on saying

“TCP/IP network transport is not installed”

AND

“runDLL error loading C:\docume~1\temp\tqnfynre.dll this specified module could not be found”

Ive done a number of scans with different software and deleted what I could

So far I have tried a number of things, including

Cwshredder
Spybot
Reglite
Lsp-fix
Avg
rogue fix
Smitfraudfix
Cws file cleaner
Silent runners
Cws shield dropper

And I can’t remember what else now,

Ive followed a few guides inc

Any help would be very gratefully received!

Tbh given the trouble u are having a fresh reinstall of your operating system might be in order.

If that too much trouble and i really do recommend it. then get yourself a copy of NOD 32 from the usual sources. 3w dot the pirate bay dot org. (no spaces etc, u know what i mean)

fully update it then go into safe mode and try a full scan. remembering to disable system restore 1st.

Update

thanks for the info and help guys!!

I ran “Trojan remover” and it came up with a few things, after restarting pc as told and it fast scanned, I could see an improvement, at this point task manager started working again and I also could use notepad and a number of other programs again and there seems to be no pop ups! but it did still try to connect to the internet a couple of times, and after the restart I only got the “runDLL error loading C:\docume~1\temp\tqnfynre.dll this specified module could not be found” pop up BUT NOT the “TCP/IP network transport is not installed”

I then setup and ran nod32 (business edition) and did a full scan on all drives etc which came up with a couple of viruses

Over all it seems that my pc is almost back to normal now :)

I just need a bit more help please,

Firstly how do I sort out the “runDLL error loading C:\docume~1\temp\tqnfynre.dll this specified module could not be found” ?

And secondly now I can’t get on the internet :Kickassro it wont let me go to any web pages or microsoft’s updates or any other updates, except! Norton 360 which will let me get updates

thanks
mike

Hi Michael how are you getting on with this ? Can you do a "Hijackthis" scan and post the results up here and i'm sure we will be able to sort it

just a few things that might help

  1. goto start-->run
  2. type in msconfig and click [ok]
  3. click startup tab
  4. see if u can spot any this file - msupdate.exe
    if so uncheck it

next
  1. Go to Control Panel>Add/Remove programs
  2. Uninstall the following
    - Seekmo Toolbar or just Seekmo
    - AWS or Weatherbug
  3. Close Add/Remove Programs after successful removal.
  4. Download and Run HiJackThis. (Close any running applications)
  5. Mark the following entries:
    - O3 - Toolbar: Seekmo Toolbar - {53E0B6E8-A51D-448B-B692-40B67B285543} - C:\Program Files\Seekmo Programs\Seekmo Toolbar\SeekmoTB.dll
    - O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\PROGRA~1\AWS\WEATHE~1\Weather.exe 1
    - O11 - Options group: [INTERNATIONAL] International

Run another full scan with NOD.
If it comes up with no warnings for viruses.

Download IE7 and reinstall it.

I cannot stress enough that the best thing for u to do is a complete reinstall of windows. this will probably not be the end of your problems. viruses can be persistant little buggers.
