Playing WMV-HD files from HD-Drive

i was thinking of buying a hd-drive to save wear on the built in 360 drive.
does anyone know if you can play wmv-hd and divx files directly from the add-on hd-drive?
i presume you can but i can't find clarification anywhere.

ive got a 250GB SATA and i bought a external chasis for it with usb and esata connections

i formatted a 20gb primary partition in fat32 and when i plug it in via usb on the xbox it just doesnt show up

any ideas whats wrong?

Use MAC Drive and format it using HFS+

will i be able to put file on this though using windows xp? i wanted to use it as a storage device for pc and video files for xbox

youll need macdrive on all the pcs to access the hard drive. if you want to split the WMV-HD into 4gb parts then us format32 to format the partision to fat32.
