playing dbox recordings not ts

hi there,

i asked about how to play dbox 2 recordings on pc across a network on the dbox and someone said to use the ts mode to play it back on the dbox.

When using the ts mode on to record the dbox continually crashes and dosent function correctly and records properly whereas when i switch this option off it creates two .0 and .1 files which are mpeg 2 files these can be converted on your pc to work as an mpeg.

What I was wondering was why cant i play these .0 and .1 files on the dbox from my pc netwrok considering that the dbox made them and they are mpeg 2

As I recall, you said you used Direct File Recording, right? This will only give you the option of TS files. If you can give some more information, perhaps we can help you. Which image do you use? Which ucodes? Mount settings? Is SPTS mode enabled?

The reason you can't play the .0 and .1 files is because Dbox needs the files in a TS "container" to know what they are. You could use ProjectX or PVAstrumento to mux them into a TS file, but that seems like unnecessary hassle when you could just record them in this format to begin with.

thanks for replying senor,

spts is not enabled hence i get the .1 .0 files, but i was hoping u could play those on the box without the ts mode, becuase when i use this mode on the box i get the box crashing going unstable and my bouquets messin up to record a programme. When i switch it off

i use sportster image Cryo_Sportster1_7_2x_uk02
the ucodes are the working ones that every 1 sed to use on this forum if ur havin sticky issues cant remeber numba.

i currently use project x like u said to make them playable but was hopin that the dbox would play the .0 .1 files.

if you could tell me why my box crashes in ts mode that wud help.

I didn't know Direct File Recording worked at all without SPTS mode, but you definitely need that enabled if you want to record a TS file.

Many people consider ucode_001a the stables one, but it will not work well (at all?) with SPTS recording or non-FTA channels. You need to enable ucode_0014 from the Sporster menu. Select System Menu and go to Hardware Settings.

I can't say for certain, but it could be related to you using ucode_001a. Try 0014 and see if it makes a difference.
