sorry dude dont wanna take over your thread but whats the diffrence between a sata or a ide?? im after one also for xbox360 backups but not sata which is best heard its pioneer but which model??? where the cheapist place to get one from deliverd ??? i have a hp dvd1040i are these any good to do the backups can the pioneer and the hp dvd1040i both be compared but i dunno what to look for ?

Most dual layer writers will work as they dont need to set the booktyp to DVD-Rom any more.

If its not sata - get a P-ATA / IDE (same thing) Pioneer 115D
