pc won't shut down keeps rebooting

guy's anyone any ideas, my pc wont shut down it boots right back up again as if the restart option has been chosen instead of the shut down option, i have to keep the power button pressed in to shut it down

could be any number of things really, try disble the acpi power feature in bios then see if it asks to switch off the pc instead

went into that m8 and disabled it ...wouldn't boot up this time...lol..then went into the standby settings and changed it to auto and it seems to have done the trick
