Pc Ram

A friend of min has an old PC and is lookibg to upgrade his RAM

i think the old ram is 128MB the numbers on it are KVR133X64C3/128

could someone tell me what these mean and what i will have to look for to upgrade

all help appreciated ??

cheers mate so i guess i have to have 168 pin sdram memory, but can i just plug in any size in or can i replace the one strip with say 2 512MB strips and will work straight away ?

If it's pretty old (In PC terms) you may find each slot is limited to a maximum amount per slot... E.G. Max of 256mb overall, or perhaps 256mb per slot, etc...

If it's a branded, off the shelf PC, then use something like the Crucial memory advisor here

Can only tell you that if we know the MB model.

But you can use Crucial, as Dazza has said, to identify what slots you have and the modules that it will expand to.
