Are there members of this group using the Apollo 600? Would like to share experience using Apollo 600.

i use an apollo 500,
i believe they are basically the same except the 500 doesn't have a camera.

I would like to carry out fixed wire testing , for appliances that are wired ex. hand driers. I want to know the exact procedure of doing this test.

you cannot use pat testing machines for fixed wire testing, you have to be a qualified electrician to do this...

for hand dryers you can either do a visual test (look for damage and make sure the dryer switches on and off properly)

or you can disconnect the hand dryer at the isolator and use a safe block to connect it to the machine, then test in the normal way.

again you shouldn't be opening up switches unless you are a qualified spark..

Thanks for your reply, buzzer. The safest way is to use a safe block as you recommended. Occasionaly I am asked to test fixed equipment but have done visual test only.

using the safeblock is the dangerous method.

switch it on,
if it comes on and switches itself off ok, then slap a sticker on it.. lol
