I'm after getting SABC channels on this sat. Whats the chance with a 1M Gibertini dish + 0.2 Smart lnb linked to 1500ci? I'm in Sth Essex.

Haven't been able to set this dish up yet on a stab120, coz I'm waiting for a mate to fabricate a custom stainless wall mount, currently using a discount supermarket (begins & ends with an L) 80cm dish fixed on Hotbird.

Just noticed in the stab manual, the max soft limits are +-65deg. Is it possible to reset (offset) the zero position - say by 5deg - so that the soft limits become 70E & 60W. I plan to use USALS.
 
It may be possible on a 1m although it is very very low in the sky, so basically you are going to need to have a good and low clear view of the sky at 68 degrees, maybe even be the tallest house on a small hill :).

As far as the software limits with usals that is for your position I believe, so not relevant as you are living within +or- 65degrees. Your motor should drive to 68.5 but i guess it will depend on the motor's hardware limit.

Some people in the uk do have success with 68.5 East using a 1.2m setup but dish elevation is around 2 degrees only. You can only try and that will give you your answer.

Thanks for the info. My bracket should arrive today, so weather permitting I hope to set it up over the weekend. I think the line of sight is OK. Will report back with results.
 
1500ci+ wont let me go further than +-61deg from longitude even tho' the motor will go a bit further. The furthest east I can get is 60deg, but can pick up 62deg if I drive the motor to it's limit manually.

I see that manhatten has recently bought out a HH140 motor, will take a 1.4M dish (anyone make one of these) and rotate +-90deg. If only I had found this before I bought the stab 120, - really pissed me off.
