Hi Hope someone can help please my wife is off to Switzerland this weekend, she says for a conference but we have all heard that one before haven't we. Don't worry I am not asking for marriage guidance.

She uses Outlook 2003 and presently the only place she can download her e-mails is here on our network using her PC, does anyone know how she can set up to receive her e-mail using the hotel wi-fi.

I should say that on her company lap-top she cannot receive her e-mails on our broadband only at work.

I know I have not given you much time to reply for she goes crack of dawn on Thursday
cheers m8's

who is her email account with? company email or an ISP?

As MOS says, what e-mail system is she on, work or your ISP.

If ISP, almost certainly they will have web based e-mail access so she can check them remotely.

If work based, then I suspect she is using some sort of VPN to connect to the work exchange server. This should continue to work regardless of location.

Also if works, if they use exchange have they enabled outlook web access, you could use that portal, or ask the admin to add temp forwarding of her mail to another account like gmail, you could set the rule up yourself but I do not know what restrictions are being imposed.

Thanks for response

She uses Outlook 2003 at home ISP is O2
At work she uses work email address so perhaps we should have aword with her network manager.

Again thanks for taling time out to help

she'll be able to access her 02 Mail, all she needs to do is login at o2.co.uk and click 'Use our free webmail' in the left hand menu, if thats the email account she's using.

As for works email, she'll need to speak to the companies IT department to see if the laptop can either be set up to download mail from their mail servers (as long as she's online) or if they have webmail enabled. (if they do, whats the web address)

Thanks ManofScience

I will get her to check with her companies WEB providers tomorrow.

I will experiment with accessing her POP3 mail through O2 webmail to see if it works

Again I am grateful for your help anfd taking time out to offer advice.
