null modem cable

hi everyone,
just wondering here as i know nothing about this at all and i had me box arround 2 weeks now but do i need a null modem cable or can i just use a cross over cable to connect the box to the pc.
i have a satillite box and not a cable box so i dont think i can get the channels i want but i cant even get the fta channels,i do get arround 200 channels which only about 50 work which are all forgein.

Hi, no you shouldnt need a null modem cable.
You say you have a sat box? Do you have a multi-dish setup?
I recommend pointing at 13 degrees west as alot of the channels on that satellite can be decrypted.

thanx for the quick reply liam and i have just a mini-dish with the normal lnb on it.
when i do a scan i get 70 transponders to come up.
o 1 thing 13 degrees west is that close to astra or not cos i bought a sat finder and tried to realegin my dish but it was very close to where i had it b4.
