Hi all,

received my Elvis at last (Elvis has now entered the building).

Trouble is doing an Auto detect (as per all instructions seen everywhere) using MP6 I am getting the following error message:

'No Standard Pic SmartCard Found' .... any suggestions here would be grateful ... very grateful in fact ...(so what if I am crawling)

The above apples if trying a dead osc and a goldie which has been programmed with something as using at present (although prob no good now that I ahve tried to Autodetect).

Thanks in advance

with the gold card try cleaning the contacts it some times works or try reprograming with a different hex
but the osc will not work with mp7 u have to get mkfind

Davidh, your reply to the osc was correct as that now works, thanks, but may seem a silly question here but how can I reprogram a goldie when the only option I have is autodetect and using that gives me the above mentioned message.

Thought I would need to be able to autodetect first before I can reprog.

Any other thought people .. .I am getting a bit desperate here.

Thanks

no m8 u do not have to auto detect before re programing as i said before try cleaning the contacts and then reprogram if this does not work it may be a duff card

just a thought when u put the hex pic & eeprom do u click on the

-1pic+eeprom(d7c3)(i/o data on rb7 pin)

this will highlight the program button enabling u to program the card?

Well I must be doing something wrong.

Contacts cleaned ... no change.

Only option given is autoupdate (unless I know what kind of card I have)

All instructions downloaded and read state to do an autoupdate.

Have closed and opened MP6 a few times now and now I find programmer is finding goldie (I think) but as soon as I click the read button it is giving me the following message 'Programming address 0h, Corrupt data=3FFFH, Expected Data=1683h' ... any ideas anyone (is this finding goldie or not or is there an error on the goldie)

O.K. must be finding goldie, but finding that programming as per the wolv.zip files I am getting the above error meesage (about the corrupt data etc) after clicking the program button

Help appreciated as to if this is supposed to happen or what is the cause.

insert gold card into Elvis
left click on add project
click on 1pic+eeprom(d7,c3)(f84->gold,platinum,galaxyii)(c84->cbmm2)
should show project in window
click + sign next2 PIC 16F84
right mouse click PIC16784
click open
goto Kev Pic Hex
open
right mouse click 24C16
open Kev EEPROM open again
left mouse click 1Pic + EEPROM
goto top left mouse click programme
when finished card ready.

replace kev with other hex files

if it still wont work i think you will have a dead card

Dahidh, yes, done that and as stated am getting the message as stated in my posting above (the one about corrupt data etc).

I assume the message means a problem somewhere

Have tried a new goldie and do not get the option of 'right mouse click PIC16784' as there is no PIC16784 to click, all there is: Memory Maps, Files and Yield.

So what am I doing wrong here ?

Thanks

i will e-mail u mp7 try this m8 try the same with it

Tried it but still no different ... still unable to find the card (same message as above posting)

make sure mp6/7 is closed remove power lead from elvis the replace so led is not on put gold card in try omega190 i will send it to u so then we know that hex is not corrupt then try to program like i said before with a fresh card auto detect put pic in pic 16f84 and eeprom in 24c16 then click 1pic+eeprom(d7,c3) above them the click program

The LED light only comes on when trying to autodetect etc ... should this be on all the time ??

Tried Autodetect but stillsame message (unable to detect SmartCard etc)

Tried to do new project using the omega and get the error 'Programming address 0h, Corrupt data=3FFFH, Expected Data=1683h'.

Tried with both a blank goldie and an old goldie that has PPV working

If I try to read the goldie I get same message

Could this mean the elvis is useless ?

So much for programming within 30 seconds someone said somewhere in an earlier posting ... so far over 3 hours ....

are u useing a power adapter make sure it is set at 9v neg to the center

If wasn't set as neg then wouldn't work at all (tried without power in at all and can't find Elvis), also tried with a battery just in case adapter was faulty and still same problems as previously

sent u an e-mail go to www.adteknik.se faq
maybe this is the prob

Looks like not much to do .. I certainly am not making changes that might cause PC to crash (something to do with ACPI)... do without all that.

O.K. so I give up ... thats it ... anybody want a programmer

use dos prog to program the card, u can stick ne hex on it, once you have programmed with dosprog u will find u can use it with any windows prog

i have read this post with interest but without knowing the answer but all the faults that you describe re non standard pic found Corrupt data=3FFFH etc you will get exactly the same result with elvis connected without a card in the slot this is the only way i could match the same error messages exactly so i can only assume that its something to do with the card slot so i would look here for the reason ie card pushed in far enough. card around the correct way chip facing down sorry i don't want to state the obvious but it seems to me that there is no chip for the programmer to read ?????????????????

Tried via Dos, selected autodetect and comes back with error.

Card in as far as can go (even tried moving back a bit and paces in between) but to no avail.

Card correct way as I can run MKF (or whatever it is) on an expired OSC and it reads that and in fact have programmed that with required keys etc and I now have a fully operation MOSC (didn't think possible, but I have one), have even run MKF on the goldie and can read it ... can't alter it as I need something called a system key but anyway it reads it so I know the card is in correct way.

To me (but I am inexperienced with these matters) I would say a fault with the Elvis .. but if it can read an OSC, and a previously written to goldie is this possible ???

All thought appreciated but unless something can be solved then its a case of selling this programmer and forgetting it ... all day now and no goldie.

Thanks.

Could be you have faulty goldies m8 if it was the progger then it would not read or write to your osc. Or could it be your mp6 software is faulty?
