No default gateway but modems look and say operational

I've tried various modems and I can't get any of them online. The modems Ive tested are:
sb5101,sb5100 & sci-Atlanta, 2 of which have haxorware and one stock firmware with only the mac changed.

The macs I'm using seem fine a all looks ok as if they are online but it's like the modem isn't acting as a gateway. and
Its like the DNS is being redirected back to a local IP address...
Haxorware confirms that they are operational and all lights look ok

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?
