could some one tell me can you plug 1 of these boxes into tour normal sky dish or do i have to get a new dish

One of the new freesat boxes would work off your current dish AFAIK

just about ANY satellite receiver will work with a sly minidish pointed at slys satellite, the difference is what youll receive and how you can use it
a sly box will give you access to all the free channels as well as FTV channels (five, sky three etc), along with full interactive services and digital text where available as well as the sly EPG
a freesat box will give access to all of the freesat channels (and now the other free channels that arent signed to freesat yet) interactive services and digital text where available and the freesat EPG
other receivers (including technomate) will allow you to view the free channels, BUT, have no interactive services (even though you can tune in the interactive streams as a channel) have no digital text (very few channels now use teletext) and have a very limited now and next EPG if youre lucky
