iPhone new iphone, few questions

just took delivery of my iphone4 its on fw 4.0, do I need to do anything before I JB? after watching video on youtube it says restore but with it only just coming out of the box is it worth updating to 4.0.1?

plug it into itunes mate , sync it , make sure all , good connect to ya wifi , in settings u wil find , then put in ya browser jailbreakme and off u go , u can update if you want to to 4.0.1 update to latest itunes 9.2.1
