network drive and vpn

Im running kodi on a fire tv box and ip vanish. But obviously when vpn is connected i cannot see my network drive.
I can see it when no vpn connected. is there a way around it.

A VPN connects you to a remote network, you can only be connected to one network at a time, therefore you cannot see your network drive.

I suppose that if you had the computer with the Network drive on the same VPN it would be possible to then see it but I would of thought that the VPN company will have disabled this feature

I also have kodi on a fire tv and also use a vpn. I too have a network drive connected to my router via usb. No problems downloading to it at all from kodi......so......
When setting up your download path I use the windows network smb.......works fine for me......hope this helps....
