net id

hi all
is there a tut telling you how to reset your net id on a smmy 2100?
i have tried searching but cannot get any thing
could anyone tell me how to

With the power off get a piece of metal(a paper clip does the job) and short out the +ve and -ve sides of the battery. This resets the box so you will have to reset your Def Freq and pin in E/M. It should then ask you to reboot by pressing OK and it should pick up your new NetID if in NTL.

right. i have shorted batt. btw in ex cw. in e/m my net id is 0999. it will not let me change it. any ideas
