So, i want to install Debian on my WD nas. My device is a WDmycloud ex2 ultra and through researching it its just a rebranded WDMyCloud-Mirror-Gen2.
I have found instructions and files on how to install the image but not sure on a couple of parts.
Heres the instructions. (from here)
My questions are,
parted --script /dev/sda "mklabel gpt \
mklabel gpt \
mkpart primary 0% 512MB \
mkpart primary 512MB 4096MB \
mkpart primary 4096MB 100% \
set 1 raid on \
set 2 raid on \
set 3 raid on"
is that all one line or seperate commands?
2nd question:
# Replace "Missing" to /dev/sdb* for use bith disks.
does he mean that this would:-
mdadm --create /dev/md0 --level=1 --metadata=0.9 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda1 missing
mdadm --create /dev/md1 --level=1 --metadata=0.9 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda2 missing
mdadm --create /dev/md2 --level=1 --metadata=0.9 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda3 missing
would mean this:
mdadm --create /dev/md0 --level=1 --metadata=0.9 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb*
mdadm --create /dev/md1 --level=1 --metadata=0.9 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda2 /dev/sdb*
mdadm --create /dev/md2 --level=1 --metadata=0.9 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda3 /dev/sdb*
thanks
